About Me.
Alexandru Ciobanu Al Rufei is a Romanian concert pianist, composer, songwriter, and ballet piano accompanist with over 25 years of experience. A graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest, he began piano at the age of five and made his orchestral debut at nine at the Romanian Athenaeum.
He has won numerous national and international piano competitions in Romania, Italy, and Spain, and has performed across Europe, from major concert halls to distinguished venues including the J.W. Marriott, Grand Hotel Continental, and Casino Palace.
Alongside his performing career, Alexandru is a dedicated educator with more than 15 years of teaching experience. He is currently a Piano Accompanist Teacher at Floria Capsali Ballet High School in Bucharest and also provides private lessons tailored to each student’s needs.
As a composer, Alexandru explores a unique fusion of classical tradition, jazz improvisation, and modern storytelling. His works—shared on SoundCloud and major streaming platforms—capture themes of hope, resilience, and emotional depth, resonating with audiences worldwide.
